When the seasons change, for some of us this means that our skincare routine changes. Switching products, new techniques, and routines come into play. There are a number of ways to support your skin. Here are three easy things you can do all year round that can make your skincare routine much easier and more effective!

1. Exfoliate Often

Exfoliating is especially important during the summer. While being out in the sun, our skin needs that extra protection and hydration. When exfoliating, you are supporting your skin by helping to remove the layer of dead skin on your face and your body.

Depending on how sensitive your skin is, try adding an exfoliator to your nighttime skincare routine 1–2 times a week, followed by a supportive moisturizer to replenish your skin. Exfoliating with a body brush before you shower is another great way to get rid of the dead skin cells. The coarse bristles on the brush stimulate your pores and help to open them up too.

2. Moisturize More

If you’re prioritizing sunscreen this summer (as you should be) then you’re on the right track! Though sunscreen is a ‘moisturizer’ we need a bit more than that. After a long day in the sun, it’s always a good idea to replenish.

When you have a shower in the evening, try applying a supportive moisturizer to your body and your face, while your skin is still a bit damp. Damp skin actually absorbs the product more readily. That excessive summer heat can dehydrate your skin. Try to moisturize as often as you can to support your skin.

3. Drink Up!

We’re talking about H2O, but taking it to the next level!

Drinking water is one of the best ways to support your skin by staying hydrated and helping to flush out toxins. Try adding some fresh organic fruits to your water. Fruit-infused water has many health benefits. It promotes increased water consumption, tastes refreshing and also helps to cool the inflammatory response of your body.
